It was reported on Wednesday that for this year’s Monday Night Football opening double header, the broadcast team calling the second game will be a trio of Mikes: Mike Greenberg, Mike Golic, and Mike Ditka. (Side Note: We have no serious beef with Ditka other than thinking he’s a subpar NFL analyst.)

We really wanted to volunteer our opinion on this before this morning, but, instead, we showed some admirable patience (a tantric technique Sting taught us) and reserved commentary until Friday.

So here it is: Mike & Mike suck. They suuuuucckkk. For some time we’ve been anticipating a semi-relevant news story about these two zombies to pop up in order for us to deliver the donkey punch they deserve. They may be OK human beings, but as a broadcast team, they’re the worst. They’re pretty much the equivalent to Chevy Chase and Magic Johnson teaming up to do a late night talk show.

And the thing is, unlike most people who blog about sports, we don’t hate sports radio. We listen here and there and just like with anything else in life we think some people are OK and we think some people suck.

Once again, Mike & Mike suck. Greenberg is whiny and annoying and lame when he thinks he’s being clever. His nasaly pretty boy act is just about enough to make you swerve into oncoming traffic. And Golic is just as bad if not worse because he enables all the whininess and lameness. We hate him because after a couple of years of doing this show he hasn’t kicked Greenberg in the dick.

How these two lameass, no charisma having, turd sandwiches have held down the morning show on ESPN Radio for years, let alone keep getting additional gigs, is beyond us. They must have paid off a bunch of migrant workers to listen or something because there’s no way intelligent people looking for anything in the way of entertainment listen to these two. Or maybe we’ve just given too much credit to the American public.

Whatever, either way these guys suck.
