the inept giantsWe can’t stand stupidity. Unless, of course, we are doing something stupid after about 20 beers that will make for a good story later. We can’t stand sober stupidity. Especially from a professional sports teams.

This is why we are starting to develop an overwhelming hatred for the San Francisco Giants.

Side Note: This post has nothing to do with Barry Bonds’ home run chase or steroid use. We don’t give a fuck about Bonds, his home run chase, whether he used steroids, or what the commissioner and Hank Aaron think of him. If naked pictures of Barry’s wife surface on the internet, let us know.

We just saw a headline on ESPN’s bottomline that the Giants extended their General Manager for another two years. This pisses us off. We know from experience (i.e. Booth knows from experience) that being inept at most jobs will land your ass back on the streets. This doesn’t seem to be the case if you’re part of the Giants’ organization.

Let us just break this down for you:

1) The San Francisco Giants are in last place in the NL West (39-53).

2) Bonds makes over 15 million dollars a season and plays whenever he feels like it. At this point in his career he has deteriorated to a slightly above average player. Also, he sucks at life.

3) Here’s their starting infield (age, batting average, and salary):

1B – Rich Aurilla – 36 yrs old – 3.5 mil - .238 batting average
2B – Ray Durham – 35 yrs old – 7 mil - .244 batting average
SS – Omar Vizquel – 40 yrs old – 5 mil - .239 batting average
3B – Pedro Feliz – 32 yrs old – 5 mil - .240 batting average

Man, those guys can hit.

Now here’s the part that absolutely kills us: this off-season, knowing he has this old as shit subpar team that needs to be rebuilt over the next two to three years, what does the Giants’ GM do?

barry zito is a giant You guessed it: He signs a guy in his prime, Barry Zito, to the most lucrative deal for a pitcher in MLB history.

Think about how stupid this dipshit must be to throw over 100 million dollars in guaranteed money at a pitcher in his prime when his team needs to start over. Basically, they are going to carry the most expensive pitcher in baseball on their roster during their rebuilding period. Way to think it through.

Man, this retard GM getting an extension bugs us. Really bugs us. Where’s the outcry from all the reasonable sports fans in the bay area? Too busy drinking cosmos and going on dates with other dudes? We’re beginning to think Booth could even stay employed with the Giants.
