Punch In The Face Friday: Drew Carey

July 27th, 2007 by NextRound

drew carey and price is rightEverything is coming up Drew Carey lately, other people’s sorrows be damned.

Earlier this week CBS announced that Drew Carey will be replacing Bob Barker as the host of “The Price is Right”. When this news first broke we were pretty indifferent as we never had any serious beef with Carey and we don’t catch to much “Price is Right” because we’re usually busy being awesome.

But then everything changed when we found out who else was in the running. You guessed it, our boy and yours, Steve Sanders (aka Ian Ziering). Yesterday, People did a hard hitting piece on Steve’s Ian’s Steve Sanders’ disappointment from getting passed over for “The Price is Right” gig, especially after his recent resurgence and domination of “Dancing with the Stars”. Steve Sanders tells People:

“For the last month, I’ve been so titillated, my family has been excited at the mere notion of me hosting ‘The Price is Right’.

steve sandersNow, despite us not being able to find a source anywhere citing that Steve Sanders was ever even considered for the job, we are totally bummed out at the idea of our boy getting himself “titillated” and then having such a big letdown.

So even though we thought your TV show had it’s moments and you seem like an OK dude, Fuck You, Drew Carey! No one delivers heartache to Steve Sanders and doesn’t find themselves on a direct path to a punch in the face.

And what Drew, like you’re so deserving? What do you have going for you? So, you’ve hosted a couple of game/improv shows, so what? So, you’re a generally well respected comedian and great with quick banter which is perfect for a show like “The Price is Right”? What the fuck ever.

Just check out this resume:

Steve Sanders (aka Ian Ziering)

Beverly Hills, CA 90210

  • Starred as Steve Sanders in 10 seasons of the most awesome show ever.

  • Humped Kelly Taylor.

  • Married Playboy model.

  • Came in 5th place on “Dancing with the Stars”.

  • Starred as Steve Sanders in 10 seasons of the most awesome show ever.

bob barkerCompete with that Mr. Carey. Compete with that.

It’s really unfortunate that Hollywood has an agenda to keep former 90’s legends who ooze talent (i.e. Steve Sanders and A.C. Slater) down, while handing out jobs to losers like you on a whim. Does Bob Barker even have a say in this? He’d probably be the one who wants to deliver the haymaker.
