Hump Day: Shilpa Shetty

You may remember Shilpa Shetty. She’s the Bollywood star who managed to get all of India in an uproar a few months ago for sharing a public smooch with everyone’s favorite Buddhist, Richard Gere, at an AIDS Awareness event.
That seemed like a pretty weird scenario to us. A whole nation worked up about a public display of affection. We figured the Indian public should be more outraged that all their Bollywood films resemble Pauly Shore movies. We did discover a new found respect for Richard Gere, though. We may have thought some disparaging thoughts about that old hippy in the past, but you’ve got to give him credit for laying one on some exotic actress when the opportunity presented itself. Solid work.
But anyhoo, Shilpa is currently back in the news–well, back in important US news–as it appears she’s closing in on locking up a Bond girl role in the next Bond film. The producers getting back to basics and selecting random exotic hot chicks as Bond girls is just another sign that the next Daniel Craig Bond flick will be just as good as the first.
We’re sure this news will have all of India freaking out again. So here’s to hoping their government doesn’t take a look at this post. We’re all for being equal opportunity chauvinists. We just don’t want to get caned for it.

Tiki Masala? Come on…..I gotta say I am pretty bummed — I was looking for my helping of nextround dessert after lunch today and all I got was this. We dont have to be equal opportunity here.
