The Monthly Update: September ‘07

September 27th, 2007 by NextRound

nextround at workThe NextRound Update

Not too much to expand on this month as compared to last month. We’re trucking along with Phase II of the three prong attack.

The majority of our time the next two months will be spent on content and the team page overhaul. As of right now, we anticipate the NextRound Team Page 1.0 launch to be at the first of December. That’s not official, just an estimate.

Until then, we’re primarily working to market the content and adding new everyday readers to the site. The new team pages will really kick ass. Once they’re ready we’re going to strongly encourage all our faithful readers to sign up and start a page for you and your friends. In the meantime–if you want to be totally boss and help us out–you can pass along our content to your friends. We’ve added the new email feature to share articles easily. Message boards and word of mouth are great as well.

Our day-to-day numbers have seen a significant increase over the last month–due in no small part to the H-Man. Now all we need is for the new visitors to continue to bring in more new visitors and they bring in more…

Well, you’re not an idiot. You get how compounding works.

We’re nearing the critical mass. If everyone continues to help promote the site and will try out the Team Pages 1.0 once they launch (they’re going to be bad ass by the way, have we mentioned that?) that could be the catalyst that moves Booth off the couch and into a place of his own. There’s no stopping now.

As always, please contact us (info@nextround.net) if you have any issues, ideas, suggestions, or just want to tell us how much you think we suck. We love feedback.

And now what you’ve been waiting for…

The Team Cool & Tough Update

Every month we highlight the latest happenings of everyone’s favorite crew of socially challenged twenty-something dudes. In quasi-chronological order, here are things that went down last month (as logged on Team Cool & Tough’s team page on NextRound.net).

  • Booth attempted to get all members of Team C&T to wear NextRound t-shirts to a bar. All members immediately informed Booth of the gayness of that idea.
  • The gayness commentary segued into SMac reminiscing about the time JB sent him some mail to his office. A cute 22-year old admin at SMac’s work opened the package addressed to him from JB (something to do with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance) only to discover an intricate drawing of a giant erect penis sitting on top of the other mail. Things have been a little weird between SMac and the admin since then, although other co-workers have paid more attention to SMac. Too bad all the other co-workers are dudes.
  • Maske started a post to see whether any members of Team C&T had any cool new content ideas. Steve Irony immediately hi-jacked the post with naked pictures of Vanessa Hudgens.
  • After Week 1 of the NFL, JK told Maske to SUCK IT for calling his Terrell Owens second fantasy draft pick a reach. Three games into the season, Maske still feels like it was a reach.
  • Steve Irony posted the new Katherine McPhee music video. We all agreed she is seriously asking for it. That agreement transformed into a debate about whether a certain part of her anatomy is “super-long”.

  • Booth posted that YouTube had just started a sister site called YouPorn and that we should check it out. The rest of Team C&T immediately informed Booth that he’s a fucking idiot and that YouPorn is simply ripping off YouTube and that the sites are not related. Cougarsinheat.com was quickly posted as another site to check out. Both YouPorn and Cougarsinheat are seriously NSFW, the latter being a little on the bizarre side.
  • Some members of Team C&T were planning on watching our alma mater’s away football game at a bar rather than going into the game. Old Balls SMac immediately challenged the manhood of every single member by questioning both their sexuality and their commitment to the team. Everyone but JB now plans to go into ALL games.

Back next month.
