The H-Man Cometh: Week 8
October 19th, 2007 by The H-Man
Miami Florida (+5) v. Florida State 2 units 3:35PM EST
Both of these offenses are a mess. This will be a low-scoring game, so points should be at a premium.
But more importantly, I think Miami is better than Florida State, especially defensively, and the Hurricanes should be plenty motivated in this one.
East Carolina (-6) v. N.C. State 2 units 4:35PM EST
I really thought this line would be in the double digits. People still haven’t caught on to how awful NC State is, they may not win another game this season. Conversely, ECU continues to be undervalued, and they’re better than NC State in every facet of the game. Hopefully, ECU won’t have to kick any field goals.
Texas A&M (Moneyline +110) v. Nebraska 1 unit 2PM EST
I’m not an Aggies fan, but Nebraska is an unmitigated disaster at this point. Matchups work out well here, as the Cornhusker rush defense is awful, and A&M should have their way in that department. This is the last time you’ll see Nebraska as a favorite this season, so enjoy.
San Jose State (+13.5) v. Fresno State 1 unit 5PM EST
San Jose State has really come around since conference play started, they’re 2-1 in conference and almost beat Hawaii last week. Fresno State’s defense is really struggling, allowing nearly 450 ypg against 1-A opponents. This looks like too many points for teams that are not that far apart. I look for San Jose’s offense to be productive and keep this game close.
Oklahoma State (-2.5) v. Kansas State 1 unit 7PM EST
My preseason man-crush on OSU is finally coming to fruition, they’re playing really well and with a lot of confidence. KSU has been solid this year, but I believe they’re overachieving.
That’s all I’ve got this week, comments and questions welcomed. Good luck to all this weekend.

How gangsta is Sean Taylor in that picture? He’s definitely strapped.

H-man, I love the canes but this is a tough one to bet on considering they only have 3 healthy defensive tackles, 1 of which is a converted DE who weighs 240lbs.

That’s a valid concern Jesse, but FSU’s offensive line is still extremely bad. Even with Miami’s injuries, I don’t think FSU will be able to mount a consistent running game.

H-Man, you ride the same teams over and over. You need to diversify yo bonds!
