Our Top 5 Picks for how to manage your couch time this Monday through Thursday. The Weekly Five
5. “Flight of the Conchords” TUES on DVD.
In case you missed “Flight of the Conchords” this summer, the first season DVD releases on Tuesday. This is kind of a slow TV week, so it’s a good time to give it a try.
The show is a bit of an acquired taste, but if you get the comedy, you’ll really like it. We think it’s a pretty good litmus test as to whether you have a good sense of humor or a shitty one.
4. “Heroes” 9PM MON on NBC.
Or as boy Charlie refers to it, “The Hit Series Heroes”. Got a nice ring to it. Definitely mutes the geek factor somewhat.
The show has been solid so far this season, and we’re going to continue to stand by it. Go ahead and judge us.
3. Louisville at West Virginia 7:30PM THURS on ESPN.
Sure, Louisville has been one of the biggest disappointments of the season, but how good can any team that plays in Papa John’s stadium be?
Even though this game doesn’t have quite the ramifications it appeared it would at the beginning of the season, the over/under should be around 100 and that translates to a good time. We recommend you attempt to drink a beer for every Louisville missed tackle and see if you have any friends left at the end of the night.
2. “Life” 10PM WED on NBC.
This is the show where our boy Sgt. Winters from “Band of Brothers” plays the homicide detective who spent twelve years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit.
A smart, entertaining show that isn’t doing much in the way of ratings because the majority of Americans find dancing celebrities entertaining. You should give it a shot.
1. “College Gameday” - Basketball Preview 8PM TUES on ESPN.
The first college basketball preview show of the season. Beef up on which teams should be good and which teams should suck. Be reminded of what players left early. Learn the fresh faces of kids that would have jumped to the league out of high school if they still could. Remember what an ass clown Digger Phelps is.
So many reasons to watch.
