Rumors of a romantic link between Alex Rodriguez and Madonna began circulating yesterday afternoon. And while at first it seems odd that a perennial all-star would bother with a manish 49 year-old pop star striving for 0% body fat, the whole thing makes a of lot sense when you take into account A-Rod’s track record with women. First you have his wife, Cynthia (flexing above), then you have the Scores bench press champion who made the front page of the NY Post this time last year. Noticing a pattern?

We were so intrigued we decided to research the other celebrity females (besides Madonna) that A-Rod has harbored a big boy crush on over the years. Here’s what we found:

Jessica Biel. Blade: Trinity on Blu-Ray is like soft porn for Alex, but he’s regularly made sick to his stomach when he sees pictures of the Timberlake Barbified version of Jessica in US Weekly.

Linda Hamilton. Don’t ask Cynthia Rodriguez if she’s ever reenacted the pull-up scene from Terminator 2.

Hilary Swank. A-Rod was seriously close to having his agent arrange a meeting with Hilary after he saw Million Dollar Baby, but reconsidered when he walked out of P.S. I Love You completely disappointed in her choice of roles.

Brigitte Nielsen. A-Rod spent a significant portion of his formative years trying to talk the girls from school into watching Red Sonja on Beta with him. Maybe they’d find inspiration?

Jennifer Garner. Guess which Yankee third baseman owns all five seasons of Alias on DVD.

Debbie Clemens. Oddly enough, this SI issue is under the mattress of every bed A-Rod owns.

May Day. A-Rod doesn’t consider himself a James Bond junkie by any means, but he has seen A View to a Kill over fifty times.

Chyna. What. A. Natural. Talent.

Shawn Wayans in White Chicks. And just to be clear, the crush isn’t on “Shawn Wayans the actor”, it’s on Shawn Wayans in drag, so don’t turn it into a gay thing.
