We mentioned two weeks ago that we’ve had CBS’s Chief Foreign Correspondent, Lara Logan, in our H Day queue for some time, and now with the news of her being knocked up we’ve decided to expedite the process.

Lara is smart (kinda cool), has a South African accent (really cool), and is not scared to jump in the back of a helicopter in a war zone (super cool), so it’s not hard to see why we’re fans of getting our sporadic helpings of “real” news from her. Our boy Fred is an especially HUGE fan. Good for him restraining orders are a lot tougher to enforce in the Middle East.

If you’re new to all things Lara you’re probably unaware of the tabloid-fabricated love affair she had in Iraq. There are a ton of details, and reporting isn’t really our thing, so we recommend you get caught up here and here. Our bullet point short version goes something like this:

• She’s married — but separated — to a pro basketball player (in the UK).
• She met a civilian contractor in Iraq who is also separated from his wife.
• She and the contractor went on multiple holidays to Poundtown.
• She got knocked up.
• She and the contractor plan to get married once their divorces are finalized.
• We’re not very comfortable with terms “pro basketball” and “UK” being used in reference to each other.

Age: 37. They don’t hand Chief Foreign Correspondent titles to 22 year-old Hooters’ waitresses.

• For the first year of her marriage to the basketball player she was pretty sure he meant he played soccer.

• Reporting from the front lines is slightly more hardcore than that time you did fifteen Jager bombs in one night.

• The contractor she plans on marrying is regularly referred to as “The white guy in Iraq all the other white guys in Iraq hate.”
