Eva Mendes has never been honored on H Day. It’s a simple oversight really; a simple oversight that needs to be corrected. Because we love her.

Eva is our favorite Cuban-American actress for a variety reasons. One reason is there’s not a lot of competition. Another reason is we’d clothesline a nun just for the opportunity to get within a five foot radius of her. And a third reason is she has an incredible knack for making utterly craptastic movies seem less craptastic, at least for the scenes she’s in. Ghost Rider, Stuck on You, and We Own the Night all come to mind off.

Eva is even lending her talents to The Women, the new chick flick that stars a bunch of old ladies and makes a point to never have a dude on screen. It’s pretty much guaranteed to be traumatizing, except for the inclusion of Eva that is. Our girl jumped on a grenade and took a supporting role solely as a favor to all the spineless bastards out there who will be forced to see this flick with their miserable ball and chain. And that’s even more reason to love her.

Just imagine the damage she could if she fired Jessica Alba’s agent.
