Our new favorite beer is Australia’s Skinny Blonde. We’ve never had one and possibly never will but the pinup girl on the label’s clothes disappear while you drink it (visual evidence below) so we intend to keep ordering them until they become a popular import.
People need to be rewarded for brilliance in marketing. Even Australians. Per Times Online:
It is the ultimate Aussie beer-lover’s fantasy: a bottle of brew with a woman on the label whose bikini disappears as fast as the drinker can consume its contents. Three friends in Sydney have taken on the Australian beer market with a unique world first marketing concept for their new beer.
The label is Skinny Blonde, a low-carb beer that is thriving on the current popularity of Australia’s new crop of ‘healthy’ beers.
But there is another reason it is popular: the Skinny Blonde bottle features a 1950s-style pin-up called Daisy whose red bikini disappears as the beer level drops and the bottle warms up, thanks to the modern ink technology used on the labels
First the Aussies give us Emily Scott and Krystal Forscutt and now this. A cure for cancer has to be coming from Down Under some time soon. Kind of NSFW:

This is probably an awful beer, but I’ll agree on the best-label-ever claim. Good find!

If it was an awful beer, it would be American, so let’s assume it might be quaffable.

I’m guessing you haven’t had many American beers. I didn’t imply it was awful because of where it is made. It’s low carb, right? Drink up then.

Cool, cool… Didn’t take long for the “I hate America” party to start.
If you’re referring to Budweiser, Coors, Keystone, Miller, etc. then you’re correct. But what most idiots don’t realize is that American microbreweries churn out easily the best and most varied types of beers in the world.
Whereas all European beers are good, but taste quite the same (Heineken, Grolsch, Beck’s, etc.), No two American brews are alike. And for your information, Budweiser, I believe, was bought by foreigners and is no longer an American beer, in reality, but a German beer.
Try Piiny the Younger, anything from Goose Island, etc. America makes some top brews for sure. You’re only doing yourself a disservice by insulting American beer, because it shows how uncultured you truly are.

It’s no coincidence that most of the top-graded beers on the planet come from America, buddy.

Yes. For you to automatically assume all American beer is unworthy, then you are just plain ignorant. It is unfortunate that American beer gets classified under the water-tasting beer that everyone knows. However, if you were to actually care you would know that there are plenty of American beers that will have plenty of flavor. I even began to brew my own beer to try to compare to several microbreweries in the States. Next time maybe you should do some research before you assume all American beer tastes like water. Don’t be such a follower. You just said that because probably everyone around you thinks that too which in fact they are all ignorant too. Try something new and yeah try some Goose Island and maybe Bells. I would highly recommend Upland Brewery, so if you get a chance try something out of the ordinary.

Its a good time to be a fan of beer living in America. There is so much variety now, we don’t have to settle for the crap that everyone still thinks is ‘American Beer’. Still, it shows how powerful marketing can be.
Heck, even the big guys like AB and Miller-Coors are getting on the micobrew bandwagon and producing decent beers like Blue Moon. They also try their best to NOT link these new products to the brand.

Idiot…American micro beers are the best in the world! You must live in the mid-west and not know about the superior beers we have here in the great ol’ USA!

I agree microbrews are the best, I am fortunate to work 300 yards from one, and it has stood the test of time, the have some delicious IPA’s, bocks, porters, mmm porter, making my mouth water. even the lagers are much better than store bought ones. I highly recommend you have a variety of beers, I never buy the same beer at the liquor store anymore, always tasting something different, I love it. I don’t care what country your beer is from, if it is delicious I’m going to drink it.

I’ve got 2 words: Sierra Nevada.
The IPA is frigging delicious. It’s hard to find up here in Canada (at least around where I live) but it’s a great American beer. Yum.

I had heard American micro breweries were worth checking out.
You are wrong about European beers though.
Heineken tastes nothing like Guiness, tastes nothing like Caledonian IPA tastes nothing like Weizenbock tastes nothing like Orkney Dark Island.

New Glarus brewing company in Wisconsin makes an amazing variety of great beers. The douche up there who said people from the midwest dont know anything about microbreweries is obviously an idiot from the East coast. And whoever said Goose Island was a microbrewery is a little off as well.

Yeah I just have to add my two cents. American micro brew really is amongst some of the finest variety of beer you can find. I am a fan of a lot of foreign brews, but it seems like when it comes individuality, Belgium is the only country that seems to really stand out as beer connoisseur. And I don’t even like belgian style beer!
One thing I noticed when I was in Ireland recently (my first trip to Europe, going to Spain and Switzerland in the summer, we’ll see how they do) was that shops simply do not carry a wide selection of beer! They had Guiness, of course, heineken, beamish, bud, carlsberg, etc. But not one IPA or pale ale. I was sad that the Irish were missing out on such good beer!
viv says:

if you went to any off licence in Ireland they usually have at least a little collection of foreign/specialist and rare beers. just like in every country you have to know where to go, there is an exceptional offy in ranelagh in dublin where they an enormous and variable selection of beers and all other alcohol. and being a tourist in ireland and im assuming you wandered into temple bar and past the proterhouse bar, which IS a microbrewery!
and you say there was no pale ale?! did you only take a small glance in one off licence because theres always too much shelf space given over to erdinger here!

If you guys want a good beer, come to Nova Scotia where we brew something called Alexander Keiths. It’s one of the greatest beers I’ve had to this date.

Howdy,
I just wanted to add my 2 cents about American Micro-Brew vs. European Beers,
I have spent about a cumulative year living in France, and I have traveled extensively through Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Holland, actually pretty much all over Europe, haven't been to Ireland yet though!
I love European beers, many small abbeys brew micros of the finest quality, most European mainstay beers are quite good. Even the European versions of beers we consider imports here can be better, like Guinness, it's not quite as good in the states, and it's hard to find on Nitro. Sortove like how mexican coke is twice as good as our corn syrup filled "original" made in US of A. German Pilsners are so crisp and refreshing and I've yet to find anything quite like them in the states, maybe a few beers here and there, but they still don't compete with the best I've had imported. All of Europe enjoys some of the finest beers in the world on a regular basis.
But I have to agree that the Micro scene in the Northwest is unparalleled in the world, or at least anywhere I've traveled to, or read/heard about. I live in Eugene Oregon, the Oregonian beer culture is HUGE. If Oregon was a country it would have more microbreweries than any other country in the world. Portland Has over 150 breweries within the city limits already. We Eugenians have Nincasi Brewery in the Whit which produces the best IPA I have ever personally tried, tied with Lagunita's new HOP Stoopid IPA. (Anderson Valley's 25th anniversary IPA was something else though too) We also have Steelhead brewery which is quite spectacular as well. We have home brewing suppliers, and local micro's on tap at every restaurant and bar in town. I try a new beer about once a week, and I've been doing this for years! I love living in the outdoor-centric Northwest where new ideas about beer are being created every day! Several other Oregon Breweries that come to mind are Laurelwood from Portland, Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Rogue Brewery, oooooh and Pyramid Brewery in Portland again. And my highschool experience would not have been the same without Henry Weinhards, the only way to drink real beer for the same cost as the domestic swill that so misrepresents the beer lovers of this Country.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, But I must assert the opinion that Sierra Nevada is one of the worst micro-breweries on the west coast. And in particular their weakest brew is there IPA.
But soooo many other great IPA's are brewed in California, Washington, and Oregon
