The Wrestler meets NFL fandom meets Patton Oswalt might seem like the world’s randomest idea for a movie but Big Fan has the potential to be the bridge between pro sports and solid filmmaking that we’ve been begging for (sorry ESPN Films). Let’s just hope Oswalt is allowed to cut loose so that — unlike The Wrestler — the awesome outweighs the depressing.
Could this be PO’s Galifinakis moment? Didn’t see a babies in sunglasses, but rocking a shiner and drafting out sports radio calls are steps in the right direction.
