Alarming news today from Wall Street. Analysts expect inventories of Slim Jims to fall in late Q3 as production has ceased and intense brand loyalty has encouraged hoarding of the meat cylinders by aficionados across the South. Gas stations and little league concession stands in Red States are expected to be the hardest hit. Reports that an explosion at the only factory in the US that manufactures Slim Jims has completely disrupted the supply chain are being confirmed by ConAgra (CAG) the parent company of Slim Jim Ltd. A new factory is not expected to be online until early fall with ramped up production not being expected until late fiscal 2009. Expect downgrades on CAG in the coming days.
