This is “Walkable Sleeping Bag”.

As the article says, Mr. Yoshiki Furukawa felt inconvenience about existing sleeping bags in 3 reasons.

1) Once I put myself into sleeping bags, I can’t grab anything until I crawl out.

2) If I were assaulted by a bear, I cannot stand up and run away quickly.

3) Cannot bend my knees. Cannot turn over.

So…. how are they supposed to get themselves out of the bag? They are pretty much screwed if they fall down.

omg it’s even better. The header reads “‘In this thing, you can quickly jump up and escape if you’re attacked by a bear in the middle of the night,’ but can you really go that fast?”

While I think the Snuggie is one of the signs of the End of Civilization, I’ve lived through a few Japanese winters — no central heating in the boonies, no insulation in the paper ‘n balsa walls — and I’m looking at that Japanese Snuggie and wishing I had one way back when…

Seems like a worse version of this thing.. Which has been out for a while now..

Bears can attain speeds up to 35 mph. If a bear wants you, then being wrapped in a “walkable” sleeping bag ain’t gonna help

You would think the Japanese of all people would have applied embedded photovoltaic solar cell fabric to this creation, not only could you have stayed warm, you could also charge a device such as a cellphone or netbook. Oh well, Maybe Next Year.
