What’s great about all this arguing about spelling is no one realizes that all these people that speak English as a second language do spell, punctuate and have better grammar because it’s how they were taught. Americans and even Canadians are more comfortable with the language and are subject to more slang.

Go to Nigeria or even Japan and see if they speak proper and formally in their own language 100% of the time.

… Canadians do not consider themselves Americans.  Just ask me, I’m Canadian and appalled if I were to be thought of as an American.  Also, the rest of the world thinks Canadians and Americans are completely different.  Travel around the world with a Canadian flag on your backpack vs. an American flag to see the difference ;)

If there is a band/actor/athlete anywhere in the world, their goal is to become successful in USA. If you don’t agree, that will be fine; but you’re kidding yourself. Look at basketball, if a player isn’t good enough to play in the NBA where does he play?
